Read more Image 2024 Student Startup Residents Announced May 7, 2024 At the heart of the University of Arizona's entrepreneurial ecosystem are talented student innovators working to shape the future through new ideas and dedication. FORGE extends our warmest congratulations to the twenty-four remarkable students selected as the 2024 Student Startup Residents. Starting May 13th, these students will begin an intensive 8-week program with regular director check-ins, mentor sessions, weekly guest speakers, industry talks, and regular team meetings. The students receive stipends upon completing milestones, and the program culminates in a live pitch to a panel of angel investors and V.C.s, where they will gain insights and experiences. Researchers commonly measure the contribution of a city’s colleges and universities using a combination of economic impact studies, workforce development analysis and innovation and entrepreneurship metrics. Her family briefly moved to Chicago while Sameeka was in junior high school, before returning to India to complete her high school education. The University of Arizona came to her attention through a family friend who had started here a year earlier, and she found that UArizona not only offered the programs she was interested in but also at an affordable price. During her time on campus, Sameeka has switched majors, joined clubs, and cultivated a community at FORGE (Finding Opportunities and Resources to Grow Entrepreneurs). In this interview, Sameeka shares her experiences and insights as an international student.
